PicFrom for iPhone

Your iPhone photos
on your own drive.

PicFrom copies the original photos and videos from your iPhone to a USB drive, a home NAS or a Mac. You don't need a computer for the drive or the NAS. Nothing is deleted from the phone, and next time only the new photos are copied.

Where to save

A drive, a NAS or a Mac

Choose where the archive lives: a USB drive or flash drive plugged into the iPhone, a NAS on your home network, or a Mac with PicFrom. You can change the place later, and each place keeps its own archive.

Choosing a USB drive, a NAS or a computer

USB drive

Plug a drive into the iPhone

Connect a USB drive or flash drive with a USB‑C cable or a Lightning adapter, choose it once, and tap Copy. PicFrom creates a PicFrom folder on the drive and saves the photos in date folders. No computer is involved.

NAS

Or a NAS on your home Wi‑Fi

If you have a Synology, QNAP or another NAS with a shared folder (SMB), add it once with its address, your user name and password. The password stays in the iPhone's Keychain. Before copying, PicFrom checks that the shared folder has enough free space.

Mac

Have a Mac? Send photos to it

PicFrom for Mac receives photos from the iPhone over home Wi‑Fi and puts them in the same archive as your iCloud photos. Scan the code on the Mac once, and next time they connect by themselves.

Details

What ends up on your drive

Photos and videos are saved exactly as the iPhone stored them. You can open them on any computer without PicFrom.

Originals

Files aren't recompressed or converted. HEIC stays HEIC, and videos keep their original format.

Only what's missing

PicFrom remembers what is already in the archive. The next run copies just the photos you've taken since.

Date folders

Files go into folders named Year / Year-Month / Year-Month-Day, the same layout PicFrom for Mac uses.

Picks up where it stopped

If the drive is unplugged or the Wi‑Fi drops, copying waits and then continues from the same spot.

Nothing is deleted

PicFrom only reads your library. It doesn't change or delete anything in Photos or in iCloud.

Large libraries

Keep the iPhone on the charger with PicFrom open. The screen can dim itself while it copies tens of thousands of photos.

Privacy

Only you see your photos

Photos go from the iPhone straight to your drive, your NAS or your Mac. They never pass through our servers or any cloud. You don't need an account.
