Terms of use
License agreement
1. About this agreement
This agreement is between you and Sergey Pavlishin, the author and copyright holder of PicFrom for macOS (the "Licensor"). It governs your use of the free PicFrom application (the "App"). PicFrom is the name of the software.
By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
2. Your license
The Licensor grants you a free, worldwide, non-exclusive license to install and use the App on Mac computers you lawfully own or use, for personal purposes and the internal purposes of your organization.
The license lasts for the duration of copyright in the App unless terminated under this agreement. The App is licensed, not sold. Copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in the App are not transferred to you.
3. Permitted use and restrictions
You may use the App to copy photos, videos and other supported materials that you are legally entitled to copy. You may keep backup copies of the installer and share the official, unmodified installer free of charge, provided this agreement and all copyright notices remain intact.
Without the Licensor's written permission, you may not sell, rent or sublicense the App, distribute modified copies, remove copyright notices or present the App as your own work. You must not use the App unlawfully or infringe the rights of others.
These restrictions do not limit rights that applicable law expressly grants you, including rights to study or test the App, correct errors or decompile it where and to the extent permitted by law.
4. Your photos and privacy
Rights in your photos, videos and other materials remain with their respective owners. This agreement does not grant the Licensor any rights to the contents of your library or exported files.
The App is designed to read your Apple Photos library and save copies to your chosen destination. It does not modify or delete items in Apple Photos or iCloud.
Information about data processing is available in the Privacy Policy: https://picfrom.com/privacy/. Accepting this agreement does not by itself constitute consent to optional analytics.
5. Third-party components
Third-party components are governed by their own licenses. Where those licenses grant additional rights or require different terms for a component, those terms take precedence for that component. You may request information about the applicable licenses at support@picfrom.com.
PicFrom is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Apple Inc. Apple's products and services remain subject to Apple's own terms.
6. Updates and support
The Licensor may provide updates and support but does not promise ongoing updates, support or compatibility with future versions of macOS, Apple Photos or iCloud, except where required by applicable law. Current system requirements are available on the product page: https://picfrom.com/picfrom/.
An update may be offered under revised terms, which will be made available before you install it. Publishing revised terms on the website alone does not change the license already granted for a version you obtained under this agreement.
7. No warranties
The App is provided free of charge on an "AS IS" basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor gives no express or implied warranties, including warranties of satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose, and does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the App, including loss or corruption of data, lost profits, and direct or indirect damages.
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of important data and checking exported files before deleting originals.
9. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by stopping use of and deleting the App. Your license ends if you materially breach this agreement; you must then stop using and delete the App.
Termination does not affect your rights in previously exported photos, videos or other files. They remain accessible independently of the App. Provisions concerning intellectual property, warranties, liability and governing law continue to apply where relevant after termination.
10. Governing law and contact
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. This choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of habitual residence, or restrict any right you have to bring a claim before a court entitled to hear it under applicable law.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Translations may be provided for convenience; the English version prevails in the event of a discrepancy, subject to mandatory applicable law.
